Rasam Powder

The next in the list of Preserves is Rasam Powder. The proportion vary people to people . I used to have two types of this powder, one to make plain rasam and another for Paruppu rasam. Here goes the recipe
for Paruppu rasam. Ingredients Coarinader seeds - 2 cups Toor dal - 1/2 cup Red chillies - 1 cup Cumin seeds - 1/2 cup Curry leaves - a bunch Whole pepper - 2 tblsp Mustard - 2 tsp Method
  • Dry roast each ingredient separetely in a kadai.
  • Cool down completely and grind it to a nice powder in the mixie.
  • Store in a air tight container in the fridge.

Check what my RM's cook today.

Rasam is something which does sound easy to make but to get the right taste you need to work hard on the masala..I usually make freshly ground masala..got to try your version of making the powder!!
