Falooda

Falooda is a popular beverage in Indian subcontinent
by mixing the rose syrup , sev, Milk and Ice cream..This
summer drink was brought to India by Mughal kings..
It is very easy to make when you have everything at hand.
Ingredients
Falooda sev - One handful
Basil seeds ( Takmaria seeds ) - 2 tsp
Rose syrup - 1 tblsp or ( Rooh Afsah)
Cold milk - 2 cups
Crushed Pistachios - 1 tblsp
Method
  • Boil 2 cups of water . Add falooda sev and cook till it is done.
  • Drain the water completely and add cold water to the sev.
  • Soak basil seeds in water for 1/2 hour .
  • Take a tall glass . Drop cooled sev and basil seeds.
  • Add the rose syrup . Slowly pour the milk over this.
  • Add a scoop of Vanilla icecream on top .
  • Garnish with crushed pistachios.

Strawberry Milkshake

Dear friends I have found another blogger friend with my name . So to avoid confusions over this I have changed my display name as kamalagk . From today onwards I will blogging under this name kamalagk.Thank you for all of your support.
Summer comes .... The farmer's market are loaded
with fresh , colorful strawberries . It is a great delight
for my daughter to go to the market especially for
strawberries . I came across this strawberry milkshake
by Shilpa of Aayis recipes .She has a special touch
with freshly grounded cardamon powder .
Ingredients
Strawberries - 1 cup
Sugar - 2 tblsp
Milk - 2 cups
Freshly grounded cardamon - 1/8 tsp
Method
Blend everthing in the blender except cardamon powder for 2 min.
Now add cardamon powder and mix well.
We love to add Vanilla Icecream on top .

Peanut Butter Icecream

I made this simple and crunchy ice cream
when I found my peanut butter was nearing
the expiry date.
Ingredients
Heavy cream - 1 cup
Whole milk - 1 cup
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Peanut Butter - 1/2 cup
salt - a pinch
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Method
  • Pulse peanut butter and milk in the food processor.Butter tends to separate. Whisk till blends together.
  • Add all the other ingredients and whisk well.
  • Refrigerate for 2 hrs.
  • Pour the creamy milk in the frozen container.
  • Freeze according to the manufactures instructions.

Vanilla Ice cream with Raspberry sauce

I have tried many versions for vanilla Ice cream.
But this one wins everyone at home and of course
this version is from our Blogger Queen Ashaji.I made this
in my newly bought Cuisinart Ice cream Maker.This
recipe makes 1 Quart Ice cream
Ingredients
Heavy cream - 2 cups
Whole milk or 2 % milk - 1 cup
sugar - 3/4 cup
Eggs - 2
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Method
  • Whisk the eggs until light and fluffy.
  • Add sugar and beat well.
  • Now add cream and milk and beat.
  • In the end add vanilla essence.
  • Pour it in the frozen container.
  • Freeze it according to manufacturers instructions.

For the Sauce

  • Add 1 cup of Raspberry and 2 tblsp of sugar.
  • Grind it to a nice paste.
  • Strain it adding little bit of water.
  • In a small sauce pan pour the raspberry juice.
  • Stir well till a thick gravy forms.

Enjoy with vanilla Ice cream.
