Quinoa - I didnot know about this grain until
before I see Suganya of Tasty Palletes ' Quinoa Upma.
Since it is an excellent source of proteins and all
the amino acids I am now substituting this more
for rice..This upma is a quick B'fast for the lazy mornings..
Ingredients
Quinoa - 1 cup
Onions chopped - 1
Carrots shredded - 1/2 cup
Green chillies slit - 2
Oil - 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves few
Salt to taste
Method
- Cook the Quinoa in pressure cooker for 2 whistles.
- In a kadai heat oil . Add mustard and curry leaves.
- When it starts splutters add chopped onions.
- Saute well and add shredded carrots.Stir well .
- Now add cooked quinoa and mix everything well with salt..

I also had this idea but did not get a chance to try it. I've tried it with couscous and bulgur wheat. I'm going to try this one very soon.
